Season In Review: Joey Logano, No. 22

Team Penske’s Joey Logano made history in 2023, but not the kind of history he hoped he’d be writing in his 15th full-time season in the NASCAR Cup Series.

With a 34th-place finish at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway in September, the 2022 Cup Series champion was eliminated from the playoffs in the first round. He was the first reigning champion to fall in the opening playoff round.

Nonetheless, there were still a few high points for the No. 22 Ford driver.

The 33-year-old claimed a victory at Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway in March, earned 11 top-fives and 17 top-10s, and led 308 laps over the course of the 36-race season.

He also finished second to Ricky Stenhouse Jr. during the Daytona 500.

Logano ultimately finished 12th in the point standings.
