DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — NASCAR Cup Series driver Ryan Preece was discharged from Halifax Health Medical Center earlier this morning, Stewart-Haas Racing revealed in an update on Sunday.
Preece was involved in an accident during Saturday night’s Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona Int’l Speedway. The accident saw Preece’s No. 41 Ford Mustang violently barrel roll 10 times before coming to a rest in the grass on the backstretch.
The 32-year-old exited his race car with help from the safety crew and was taken to the infield care center on a stretcher. He was later transported to Halifax for further evaluation.Â
Preece posted an update on social media later on in the evening.
“If you want to be a race car driver, you better be tough.”
