Logano Notches Second Cup Series Pole In Two Races

For the second time in three races, Joey Logano will start on pole position in the NASCAR Cup Series.

Logano wheeled his No. 22 Ford to the top spot at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday afternoon with a fastest speed of 184.357 mph. He edged Hendrick Motorsports’ Kyle Larson by 0.021 seconds. It was his 30th career pole in the Cup Series.

It’s the two-time champion’s third straight front row start of the year. Last week at Atlanta Motor Speedway, however, Logano was forced to start at the rear of the field and serve a pass-through penalty for using an illegal left-handed glove.

Logano’s teammate Austin Cindric starts third, with Daytona 500 winner William Byron and 23XI Racing’s Bubba Wallace rounding out the top-five starters.

Stewart-Haas Racing’s Chase Briscoe qualified sixth, with a pair of Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota’s following suit with Martin Truex Jr. and Ty Gibbs.

Chris Buescher qualified 10th to give Ford four entries in the top 10.

Last week’s Atlanta winner, Daniel Suarez, starts 16th.
