DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Kyle Larson will lead the NASCAR Cup Series field to the green flag for the final race of the regular season Saturday night at Daytona Int’l Speedway.
Larson, the series point leader, earned the pole for the Coke Zero Sugar 400 by having the highest qualifying metric score following last Sunday’s race at Michigan Int’l Speedway of those entered at Daytona.Â
He’ll be joined on the front row by his Hendrick Motorsports teammate, defending race winner William Byron. Denny Hamlin, who is still looking for his first victory of the season for Joe Gibbs Racing, will start third alongside his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Kyle Busch.
Chase Elliott will start fifth, followed by Michigan winner Ryan Blaney in sixth. Martin Truex Jr., Kurt Busch, Matt DiBenedetto and Brad Keselowski.
One position is left in the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs, with Tyler Reddick currently holding a 25-point advantage over his Richard Childress Racing teammate Austin Dillon. Reddick is scheduled to start 17th, with set to start 27th.Â
