Larson Secures Pole For Richmond Cup Race

RICHMOND, Va. – Kyle Larson will lead the NASCAR Cup Series field to the green flag during the second race of the playoffs Saturday at Richmond Raceway.

Larson earned the pole for the Federated Auto Parts 400 by having the highest qualifying metric score following last Sunday’s race at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway of those entered at Richmond.

He’ll be joined on the front row by Denny Hamlin, who narrowly edged Larson to win the Cook Out Southern 500 last Sunday at Darlington. Martin Truex Jr. will start third, followed by Kurt Busch and Kevin Harvick.

Joey Logano, Brad Keselowski, Ryan Blaney, Aric Almirola and Christopher Bell will start sixth through 10th, respectively.

The Federated Auto Parts 400 is scheduled to begin shortly after 7:30 p.m. EST Saturday at Richmond Raceway.
