Larson Secures Pole For Michigan Cup Race

BROOKLYN, Mich. – Kyle Larson will lead the NASCAR Cup Series field to the green flag during Sunday’s FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan Int’l Speedway.

Larson was awarded the pole by virtue of having the highest metric score following last Sunday’s race on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course of the cars entered in the race.

Lap speed is weighted at 15 percent, previous race finish at 25 percent for the driver and owner results and owner points position at 35 percent to calculate the final metric score.

His Hendrick Motorsports teammate, Chase Elliott, will start second Sunday afternoon. Team Penske’s Ryan Blaney will start third, followed by Wood Brothers Racing driver Matt DiBenedetto.

Martin Truex Jr., Kurt Busch, Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin and Alex Bowman will start fifth through 10th.
