Kyle Busch Fined For Darlington Violations

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – NASCAR announced Tuesday that Kyle Busch, driver of Joe Gibbs Racing No. 18, has been penalized for his actions following a mid-race crash during Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway.

Busch violated Sections 12.1.a; 12.5.2.5.a; 12.8.a of the NASCAR rulebook and has been fined $50,000 for a safety violation, actions detrimental to stock car racing and violating the NASCAR member conduct guidelines.

After an on-track incident forced JGR driver to retire from the race, Busch ran over several safety cones at a high rate of speed in the vicinity of spectators.

He finished 35th.
