Joey Logano On Pole At The Brickyard

CONCORD, N.C. – Joey Logano will lead the NASCAR Cup Series field to the green flag on Sunday during the Big Machine Hand Sanitizer 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Joey Logano, driver of the No. 22 Team Penske Ford, was selected to start from the pole via a random draw. He’ll be joined on the front row by Chip Ganassi Racing’s Kurt Busch in the No. 1 Chevrolet.

Like previous events featuring no qualifying, positions 1-12 were determined via random draw for charter teams in those positions in owner points. Positions 13-24 and 25-36 were determined the same way, with positions 37-40 filled by open, no-charter teams based on their positions in owner points.

Alex Bowman will lineup third alongside his Hendrick Motorsports teammate and four-time race winner Jimmie Johnson. Aric Almirola, Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch, Martin Truex Jr., Brad Keselowski and Chase Elliott will start fifth through 10th.
