Carson Hocevar has been fined $50,000 following an incident with another driver during Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway.
Hocevar, aboard Spire Motorsports’ No. 77 Chevrolet, made contact with Harrison Burton under caution during the Ally 400, which spun out the driver of the No. 21 Wood Brothers Racing Ford.
The Spire Motorsports driver was also docked 25 driver points for violating Sections 4.4B: NASCAR Member Code of Conduct Penalty Options And Guidelines.
In other penalty news, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series saw two teams assessed penalties for an unsecured lug nut following Friday’s race. Matt Mills’ No. 42 Niece Motorsports Chevrolet and Matt Crafton’s No. 88 ThorSport Racing Ford were in violation, which resulted in both crew chiefs (Jon Leonard, No. 42 and Jeriod Prince, No. 88) fined $2,500.
