Hendrick Motorsports Goes 1-2 In Kansas Qualifying

William Byron topped the timesheets during NASCAR Cup Series qualifying at Kansas Speedway on Saturday evening, with Hendrick Motorsports teammate Kyle Larson in tow.

Byron turned a fast lap of 30.133 seconds (179.206 mph) in his No. 24 entry around the 1.5-mile track, while Larson was .006 seconds off the pace in his No. 5 Chevrolet. Another Chevrolet driver, Trackhouse Racing’s Ross Chastain, qualified third with a fast lap of 30.145 seconds (179.134 mph).

Last week’s winner Martin Truex Jr. was fourth in his No. 19 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota. 23XI Racing’s Tyler Reddick completed the top five.

Joey Logano, Ty Gibbs, Denny Hamlin, Daniel Suarez and Ryan Blaney filed into the top 10.

The Cup Series field will take the green for the AdventHealth 400 on Sunday at 3 p.m. (ET).
