HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Following his successful NASCAR Xfinity Series championship run, Ty Gibbs has been promoted to drive full time in the NASCAR Cup Series with Joe Gibbs Racing in 2023.

Gibbs will be behind the wheel of the No. 54 Toyota Camry TRD with Chris Gayle as his crew chief. Gayle served as crew chief for the 20-year-old driver during his 2022 Xfinity Series season.

Since his debut in 2021, Gibbs has recorded 51 career starts in the Xfinity Series, collecting seven wins and 23 top-10 finishes this year alone. Along with earning the Xfinity Series championship, Gibbs won the 2021 ARCA Menards Series championship.
