Cup Series At Michigan Postponed To Monday

Rain has once again wreaked havoc on the NASCAR Cup Series, this time at Michigan Int’l Speedway. Sunday’s FireKeepers Casino 400 has been postponed to Monday at noon ET due to weather.

The event was red flagged after 74 of 200 laps completed on the two-mile oval. 23XI Racing’s Tyler Reddick will lead the field back to the green flag once racing resumes on Monday alongside Alex Bowman of Hendrick Motorsports.

Prior To The Red Flag

After the race was delayed by over an hour-and-a-half, the event began with polesitter Christopher Bell leading the field to the green flag.

Joe Gibbs Racing’s Martin Truex Jr. earned the Stage One win, while other drivers experienced trouble in the early going.

Kyle Busch spun from 11th while racing with Ryan Blaney on lap 14, hitting the outside wall. Busch’s day ended in the garage area where he currently is scored in last place, 60 laps down.

Shortly after, Chase Elliott lost control of his No. 9 Chevrolet, slamming into the wall in turn two. Elliott joined Busch in the garage area in 36th.

Hendrick Motorsports’ William Byron endured trouble at the end of Stage One after getting loose and slapping the outside wall off turn four. Byron limped his No. 24 down pit road for repairs, though would run out of time on the DVP clock, promptly ending his race in 35th.

While battling for the lead alongside Bowman, Bell got loose underneath the No. 48, spinning and tagging the outside wall in turn one.
