CONCORD, N.C. – Chase Elliott will lead the NASCAR Cup Series field to the green flag for Sunday’s Quaker State 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Elliott, fresh off his victory last Sunday at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wis., will start from the pole by virtue of having the highest metric score of the cars entered in the race.
Lap speed is weighted at 15 percent, previous race finish at 25 percent for the driver and owner results and owner points position at 35 percent to calculate the final metric score.
Kyle Busch will join him on the front row for Sunday’s race. He’s followed by his Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Denny Hamlin, Christopher Bell and Martin Truex Jr.
Kyle Larson will start sixth ahead of Tyler Reddick, Kurt Busch, Ross Chastain and Joey Logano.
