Following post-race inspection, Alex Bowman has been disqualified from Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at the Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway Road Course.
Bowman, who was initially credited with an 18th-place finish, failed post-race inspection due to his No. 48 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet failing to meet the minimum weight requirement.

HMS released a statement on social media following the news, saying, “We are working to understand the issue and will make a decision Monday about whether to submit an appeal.”
