Beshore Suspended For Texas Cup Run

CONCORD, N.C. — Ben Beshore, crew chief for the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota driven by two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch, has been suspended for Sunday’s race at Texas Motor Speedway.

Beshore was fined $20,000 and suspended for Sunday’s race because NASCAR found two lug nuts that were not safe and secure on Busch’s No. 18 car during post-race inspection following the Oct. 10 event at the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL.

Busch is among the eight drivers qualified for the round of eight in the Cup Series playoffs.

Race engineer Seth Chavka will serve as crew chief this weekend.

Two other Cup Series penalties and a single Xfinity Series penalty were also handed down.

Chris Gabehart, crew chief for JGR’s Denny Hamlin was fined $10,000 for a single unsecure lug nut, while Scott Graves with Chris Buescher’s Roush Fenway Racing team was fined $10,000 for one loose lug nut.

Kaulig Racing crew chief Alex Yontz was fined $5,000 for a lug-nut infraction.
