Almirola Confirms Extension With Stewart-Haas

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – Aric Almirola has signed a contract extension to remain with Stewart-Haas Racing next season in the NASCAR Cup Series.

Almirola made the announcement via his personal Twitter account Tuesday afternoon. His primary sponsor, Smithfield Foods, will also return to the team.

Almirola, from Tampa, Fla., is currently in the midst of his ninth full-time NASCAR Cup Series season and his third with Stewart-Haas Racing after joining the team in 2018.

His first season with Stewart-Haas Racing was his best during his NASCAR Cup Series career. That year he earned one victory, four top-five and 17 top-10 finishes en route to a fifth-place finish in the championship standings.

In all, Almirola has two victories, 23 top-five and 75 top-10 finishes in 342 NASCAR Cup Series starts.
