Allmendinger To Run Daytona 500 With Kaulig Racing

A.J. Allmendinger will make his 11th start at the Daytona 500 on Feb. 18, 2024, driving the No. 16 entry for Kaulig Racing.

Though the 42-year-old is committed to the NASCAR Xfinity Series full time next season, piloting the No. 16 Chevrolet for Kaulig, he will kick off the year with a Cup Series appearance at Daytona Int’l Speedway.

The team announced the news via social media on Wednesday.

Allmendinger’s best finish at the Daytona 500 is a pair of thirds (2009, ’17). Last year, the California native scored a sixth-place result in the 212-lap race.

He has yet to win a race at the famed 2.5-mile facility, in either the Xfinity or Cup Series.
