Majeski On Truck Pole For Daytona Opener

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Ty Majeski won the pole for Friday night’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series opener, the NextEra Energy 250 at Daytona International Speedway, Friday afternoon.

The 27-year-old ThorSport Racing driver ran a fast lap of 179.122 mph during the second round of qualifying to claim his first pole in 21 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races.

“We are excited,” Majeski said. “This will be my first full time effort in the Truck Series. I’m really excited to be with the No. 66 Cincinnati team and ThorSport Racing. They’ve been working really, really hard to build fast Toyota Tundra TRD Pros. They’ve been putting long hours in. Joe (Shear, Jr., crew chief) and I have been closing down the shop a lot of these nights leading up to Daytona just massaging on this thing. That’s what it takes with these superspeedway races – obviously fast trucks. Not a lot the driver can do. Superspeedway qualifying just a great testament to all the work we put in and all of the speed we have in our trucks.”
