DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Ty Majeski won the Cometic Gasket Pole Award for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season-opening Fresh From Florida 250 with a lap of 178.767 mph on Friday afternoon at Daytona Int’l Speedway.
It was his second pole in four races at the superspeedway.Â
The 29-year-old drives the No. 98 Ford for ThorSport Racing. It was his sixth pole in 67 Truck Series races.
Johnny Sauter was second at 178.703 mph in the No. 45 Niece/IEDA Chevrolet. It will Sauter’s 10th front row start in 15 races at Daytona Int’l Speedway during Friday night’s race.Â
Corey LaJoie’s No. 7 Bluegreen Vacations Chevrolet was third at 178.419 mph. It’s his second top-10 start at Daytona. Matt Mills was fourth at 178.250 mph in the No. 42 J.F. Electric/Utilitra Chevrolet, while Tyler Ankrum rounded out the top five at 177.950 mph in the No. 18 LiUNA! Chevrolet.
Thad Moffitt (10th) was the fastest qualifying rookie.Â
Nick Sanchez, Daniel Dye, Tanner Gray, Bayley Currey and Moffitt rounded out the top 10. Â
