Eckes Claims Pole At UNOH 200

Last week’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race winner Christian Eckes was off to a good start on Thursday afternoon at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway, setting the fast lap in qualifying. 

Eckes drove his No. 19 McAnally-Hilgemann Racing entry to a 15.101-second lap (127.064 mph) at the .533-mile track.

Niece Motorsports’ Carson Hocevar was second quick with a 15.131-second lap (126.813 mph). Kyle Busch Motorsports driver Chase Purdy qualified third, while ThorSport Racing’s Ty Majeski will start alongside Purdy on the second row.

GMS Racing’s Rajah Caruth was fifth. Tanner Gray, Jack Wood, Taylor Gray, William Sawalich and Zane Smith completed the top 10 in qualifying.

The full Truck Series field will take the green for the UNOH 200 presented by Ohio Logistics at 9 p.m. (ET).
