Dye Qualifies On Truck Series Pole At Atlanta

McAnally-Hilgemann Racing’s Daniel Dye was the fastest during NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series qualifying at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Friday afternoon.

The driver of the No. 43 Chevrolet recorded a 31.817-second lap (174.246 mph) at the Georgia superspeedway. Dye will start on the front row of the Fr8 208 on Saturday, alongside teammate Tyler Ankrum.

“It’s so cool,” said 20-year-old Dye. “It’s super-exciting, but it’s awful watching and knowing that your teammates are also fast and still have to go. It’s going to look really good for our team starting on that front row tomorrow. Just super-proud of what we’ve got going on here this weekend.”

Ankrum’s lap time was 31.960 seconds at 173.467 mph.

ThorSport Racing’s Ty Majeski qualified third, while MHR drivers Jack Wood and Christian Eckes were fourth and fifth. Grant Enfinger, Kyle Busch, Matt Crafton, Chase Purdy and Conner Jones completed the top 10.

Eckes won last year’s Fr8 208 at Atlanta on March 18, 2023.
