Chastain Claims Pole In Truck Series Qualifying At COTA

Cup Series regular Ross Chastain led NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series qualifying on Friday night at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Texas.

He turned a fast lap of 133.613 seconds at 91.877 mph in the No. 41 Niece Motorsports entry, securing his fourth career Truck Series pole award. Chastain was followed by Kyle Busch in his self-owned No. 51 Kyle Busch Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado.

Busch clicked off a fast lap of 134.178 seconds at 91.49 mph. He will start from outside the front row in Saturday’s XPEL 225.

Ty Majeski was the only Ford driver in the top five, finishing third in the No. 98 ThorSport Racing entry. RevRacing’s Nick Sanchez was fourth, while last week’s winner and McAnally-Hilgemann Racing driver Christian Eckes placed fifth.

Carson Hocevar, Zane Smith, Grant Enfinger, Tanner Gray and Kaz Grala completed the top 10.

The Truck Series field will take the green at 1:30 p.m. (ET) on Saturday at the 3.426-mile circuit.
