Bell First On Track, Heim Qualifies On Truck Series Pole

Christopher Bell was the first driver on track for NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series qualifying at North Wilkesboro Speedway on Saturday morning.

The No. 61 Toyota slid to ninth on the leaderboard by the session’s end and will start on the fifth row for the Tyson 250, which will take the green at 1:30 p.m. (ET). The polesitter will be Corey Heim in the No. 11 Toyota, who turned a fast lap of 20.072 seconds at 112.096 mph. It marks the fourth career pole for the TRICON Garage driver.

“Poles are cool, but wins are cooler. I’m proud of everyone on my Safelite team, proud of all the work and progress they’ve made this year. We’re ready to go,” Heim said.

Carson Hocevar will join Heim on the front row, as he qualified second with a 20.156-second lap time (111.629 mph).

ThorSport Racing’s Ty Majeski qualified third. Full-time Cup Series driver William Byron, wheeling the No. 51 for Kyle Busch Motorsports, came in fourth. CRY7 Motorsports’ Colby Howard was fifth.

Bret Holmes, Grant Enfinger, Kyle Larson, Bell and Hailie Deegan completed the top 10.

Last week’s winner Christian Eckes qualified 13th. Other notable drivers who qualified outside the top 10 were Cup Series drivers Ross Chastain (12th) and Bubba Wallace (14th).

Each truck turned two laps in qualifying. The No. 75 of Parker Kligerman, No. 33 of Josh Reaume and No. 6 of Norm Benning did not qualify for the 36-car field.
