Gilliland Lands Cometic Pole For Pocono Truck Race

LONG POND, Pa. – Seeking his second NASCAR Camping World Truck Series win of the year, Todd Gilliland will start first during Saturday’s CRC Brakleen 150 at Pocono Raceway.

Gilliland, the driver of the No. 38 Front Row Motorsports F-150, received the Cometic Gasket Pole Award courtesy of the highest metric score among the 39 trucks entered to compete.

Lap speed is weighted at 15 percent, previous race finish at 25 percent for the driver and owner results and owner points position at 35 percent to calculate the final metric score.

Gilliland earned the pole with a metric score of 3.9, factoring in his recent runner-up finish at Nashville Superspeedway, the third-fastest lap from that event and his seventh-place seeding in the owner point standings after 12 of 22 races this season.

He’ll be joined on the front row by GMS Racing’s Zane Smith, with Ben Rhodes, Austin Hill and Matt Crafton – all in Toyota Tundras – filling out the top five.

Starting sixth through 10th will be Stewart Friesen, John Hunter Nemechek, Nashville winner Ryan Preece, rookie Jack Wood and defending series champion Sheldon Creed.
