Bodine Making Truck Return With Halmar Friesen Racing

STATESVILLE, N.C. – Two-time NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion Todd Bodine will make his return to the series for six races with Halmar Friesen Racing next season.

Bodine, who will pilot a second Halmar Friesen Racing Toyota as a teammate to regular team driver Stewart Friesen, currently has 794 starts across all three NASCAR national divisions. With the addition of these six races, Bodine will become the 28th driver in NASCAR history to reach 800 starts. Camping World has signed on as sponsor for the six races.

The six races Bodine will compete in are Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway on March 4, Darlington (S.C.) Raceway on May 6, Texas Motor Speedway on May 20, Sonoma (Calif.) Raceway on June 11, Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway on June 24 and Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pa., on July 23.

During his NASCAR career, Bodine has earned 22 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series victories as well as 15 NASCAR Xfinity Series victories. His last NASCAR national start came in 2017 when he competed in the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C.

“We started talking about the possibility of doing something like this with Marcus Lemonis (CEO and Chairman of Camping World) around this time last year,” said Bodine. “When Marcus tweeted back in October that he needed 800 reasons rom the fans to make this happen, the fans responded back with thousands of reasons. We are excited for the opportunity to reach the 800-start mark with top equipment from the team at HFR.

“It’s also great to be back with Toyota. We have 23 wins and two championships with Toyota, so I’m proud to achieve his milestone in a Tundra. I have already heard from several Camping World Truck Series drivers who have never raced against me in the past. They sound excited to race me as I am to come out of the Fox Sports Studio for these six races and race them.”
