Rea Reaches World Superbike Century Mark

ALCANIZ, Spain – The opening round of the World Superbike season proved historical for Jonathan Rea, who earned his 100th series victory on Saturday at MotorLand Aragon.

The victory for the Kawasaki rider made him the first rider to earn 100 World Superbike victories.

Rea dominated the race, leading every lap to defeat his Kawasaki teammate Alex Lowes by nearly four seconds at the checkered flag. Lowes held off a game Toprak Razgatlioglu by .043 seconds to finish second and give Kawasaki a sweep of the first two positions in the opening round of the season.

Scott Redding finished fourth for Ducati, with Team GoEleven’s Chaz Davies finishing fifth.
