Record Run For Jorge Martin

SPIELBERG, Austria — Jorge Martin set a track record en route to claiming his second MotoGP pole position of the season during qualifying for the Michelin Grand Prix of Styria at the Red Bull Ring.

The Pramac Racing rider turned a lap of 1:22.994, edging Ducati Lenovo rider Francesco Bagnaia by less than a tenth of a second for the second pole start of the Spanish rider’s rookie campaign.

Monster Energy Yamaha mounted Fabio Quartararo rounded out the top three qualifiers in what was a back-and-forth final qualifying session.

Jack Miller, who was the provisional top qualifier, fell back to fourth during the final session for Ducati Lenovo.

Completing the second row will be Team Suzuki Ecstar rider Joan Mir and Pramac Racing’s Johann Zarco.
