MotoGP Adjusts Calendar, COTA Event Rescheduled

PARIS – The FIM, IRTA and Dorna Sports have revealed an updated calendar for the FIM MotoGP World Championship.

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has forced the postponement of two events, the Argentina Grand Prix at Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo and the Americas Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.

The season opening Grand Prix in Qatar remains confirmed for March 26-28 at the Losail Int’l Circuit, with the Grand Prix of Doha now set to take place one week later at the same venue on April 2-4.

The Autodromo Internacional do Algarve in Portugal will then host the third round of the Championship from April 16-18 before the paddock heads to the Circuito de Jerez-Angel Nieto as previously planned.

After Jerez, the traditional trip through Europe takes place with visits to France, Italy, Catalunya, Germany, Netherlands, Finland (subject to homologation), Austria, Great Britain, Aragon and San Marino all on as scheduled prior to trips to Japan and Malaysia.

Valencia will host the season finale from the Nov. 12-14.

The Mandalika Int’l Street Circuit in Indonesia has been selected as a reserve Grand Prix venue, subject to homologation.
