Last-Lap Pass Lifts Espargaro In British Grand Prix

Aleix Espargaro scored a dramatic MotoGP victory in the British Grand Prix after passing reigning champion Francesco Bagnaia on the final lap.

The win was Espargaro’s second victory in MotoGP competition. Rain came in the closing laps, giving fans plenty of action. Brad Binder rounded out the podium in third.

The 20-lap event saw polesitter Marco Bezzecchi concede the top spot to Jack Miller. From his fourth starting spot, Bagnaia surged to the lead shortly after lap two.

Six laps into the race, Bezzecchi crashed out after a promising day.

Currently second in the championship standings, Jorge Martin crossed the finish line in sixth position, unable to gain on his title rival Bagnaia.

Bagnaia now leads the standings by 41 points ahead of Martin.
