PORTIMAO, Portugal – Honda HRC Test Rider Stefan Bradl will ride for the Repsol Honda Team in place of Marc Marquez during the Algarve Grand Prix this weekend at the Algarve Int’l Circuit.
Marquez is sitting out the Algarve Grand Prix after suffering a concussion during a training accident.
This will be Bradl’s fifth race appearance of the season. His four previous starts have resulted in points scoring finishes, with his best this year result being 11th in Qatar.
“First of all I hope Marc is recovering well and he can be back on track soon,” said Bradl. “I am looking forward to riding again as Portimao is an enjoyable circuit where we had a good result towards the end of 2020. It’s never easy to jump on the bike, but we have had a lot of good bike time this year between the races and testing.”
