Bagnaia Solidifies Second MotoGP Title As Martin Crashes

Ducati’s Francesco Bagnaia secured his second consecutive MotoGP championship during Sunday’s Valencia Grand Prix.

Bagnaia started on pole and led the opening laps of the event while title rival Jorge Martin vaulted to second off the start.

Martin, who entered the season finale 14 points behind Bagnaia, saw his chances come to a crashing halt on lap six. Colliding with Marc Marquez, Martin dropped out of the running.

From there, Bagnaia set sail to become the first repeat champion since Marquez in 2018-’19.

Fabio Di Giannantonio finished second with Johann Zarco rounding out the podium in third.Â
