Bagnaia Extends Points Lead With Italian GP Triumph

The MotoGP Italian Grand Prix was dominated by Francesco Bagnaia, who cruised to victory on the 3.26-mile circuit.

After scoring Saturday’s sprint victory at Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello, Bagnaia backed up his performance with ease on Sunday.

Bagnaia lost the lead initially to Jack Miller, but retook the lead in turn two on the first lap. From there, the 23-lap grand prix was in control of the reigning champion.

Behind Bagnaia, Jorge Martin and Johann Zarco followed in a Ducati sweep of the podium.

It was a dismal day for Marc Marquez, who crashed out of the event while gunning for a podium position. It was Marquez’s third DNF of the season.

With the win, it’s Bagnaia’s third triumph of the season, extending his points lead to 21 markers over Marco Bezzecchi.
