Progressive AFT To Return To Legendary Sacramento Mile

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The legendary Sacramento Mile, one of American Flat Track’s iconic motorcycle racing classics, will return to the famed Cal Expo Fairgrounds with the Progressive American Flat Track national series on May 13, 2023.

SD Racing, LLC will be the host for the seventh event on the 2023 18-race AFT national campaign.

The world’s best flat track motorcycle racers will make their 58th appearance in the Capitol City which dates back to 1959 at the historic one-mile dirt track at the California State Fairgrounds. SDI Racing, LLC brought the AFT series to Cal Expo in last year’s Mission Foods Legendary powered by Law Tigers in a thrilling night of 140 mph, two-wheel competition.

Teenager Dallas Daniels stopped the four-race winning streak of series champion Jared Mees in a wild SuperTwins finale last year at Cal Expo. Now, another exciting night of dirt track action comes in May with riders such as Daniels, Mees, J.D. Beach, Briar Bauman, Davis Fisher, Brandon Robinson and Jarod Vanderkooi leading the contingent of outstanding riders and stellar manufacturers like Yamaha, Indian, Harley-Davidson, KTM and Honda.

“Last year’s Mission Legendary Sacramento Mile powered by Law Tigers saw a great crowd and spectacular racing at Cal Expo and we are excited to bring back the Progressive AFT motorcycle races in May next year,” said Steve DeLorenzi, president and CEO of SDI Racing, LLC. “The Mile races at Sacramento have seen the most famous and talented flat track racers for the last 60 years and that
tradition will continue in 2023. We’ll have tickets on sale soon for the May 13 event.”

Ticket and sponsor information is currently being established and will be announced in the near future.
