American Flat Track Season Draws Record Viewership

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Progressive American Flat Track has earned record-breaking viewership ratings for the 2022 season with two races still remaining.

The results illustrate the success of both the new multi-year agreement with FOX Sports — which features Progressive AFT in highly desirable time slots as a key part of a powerful overall motorsports line-up — and the relaunch of FansChoice.tv.

This season boasts the most television viewers of any year since the series’ rebrand in 2017.

According to Nielsen, television viewership for the 2022 season currently totals 2,598,000. That number eclipses each of the previous two seasons by over 750,000 viewers with two races still to air.

Televised hours have expanded exponentially, totaling 139 hours of linear coverage to date (51 hours on FS1 and 88 hours on FS2) compared with a total of 17 hours in 2021.

Total viewership, including both broadcast and digital viewership from FansChoice.tv, YouTube and Facebook, has reached 3,051,399 viewers and is on pace to smash the previous high mark set in 2018 by hundreds of thousands of viewers.

The Mission Volusia Half-Mile Finale I will premiere on FS1 this upcoming Sunday, Oct. 23, and will be followed by the Mission Volusia Half-Mile Finale II on FS1 one week later on Sunday, Oct. 30.
