Win. Repeat. Three-peat. That’s a common slogan in professional sports. Well, Sammy Swindell scored a three-peat victory July 4 at Fremont Speedway in the 30-lap Ohio Outlaw Sprint Speedweek feature, worth $5,000 and lap money.
The non-stop race was run before the largest crowd in Fremont Speedway history. Swindell’s flag-to-flag run ended with a half-lap victory over Frankie Kerr.
Afterward, Swindell, aboard Goodyears, described his uneventful wire-to-wire run in Harrold Annett’s Swindell this way: “The car was working good for the circumstances, I guess. The traffic didn’t give me much problem.”
