INDIANAPOLIS – Juncos Hollinger Racing officials announced Thursday that Reece Gold would return to the team for the upcoming Indy Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires season.
Gold claimed one win, five poles, and seven podiums during his rookie season with Juncos Hollinger Racing.
Gold returns to the team after an impressive run during the 2021 Indy Pro 2000 Championship. The 17-year-old earned his first podium in his first outing in the Indy Pro 2000 Championship at Barber Motorsports Park. Gold went on to claim four consecutive poles during the month of May, sweeping all poles during the Indy Grand Prix tripleheader and the pole for the first oval race of the season at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park. The young American went on to capture his first win in the series at New Jersey Motorsports Park.
“I am very excited to be back with Juncos Hollinger Racing for the 2022 season,” said Gold. “I had a great first year with them and I am ready to build off that and fight for wins. Thank you to the Ticket Clinic for their continued support.”
Gold is the first driver announced to the team this year.
“We are thrilled to have Reece back on board with us this season,” said team co-owner Ricardo Juncos. “He proved to be a strong and consistent driver at a young age during his rookie year, so we are thrilled to build off that momentum going into St. Pete next month. I am confident Reece will find more success this year as we battle for the championship.”
The Indy Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires season begins Feb. 24-26 on the streets of St. Petersburg, Fla.
