INDIANAPOLIS – Juncos Hollinger Racing officials have announced Enaam Ahmed will join the team and pilot the No. 22 entry in the Indy Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires this weekend at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
Ahmed will team up with rookie Reece Gold for the final two rounds of the season.
Ahmed competed in the first seven events of the Indy Pro 2000 Championship with RP Motorsports, earning a best finish in fourth and the fastest lap in round seven at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course. Before joining the Road to Indy Presented by Cooper Tires Championship, Ahmed is a British Formula 3 Champion and took victories in the FIA European Formula 3 Championship.
“I am really happy and surprised to get a last-minute call from Ricardo Juncos to join the team for the final races of the season,” said Ahmed. “I have been out of the car for a while, so I am just going to enjoy the opportunity with no expectations.”
