Season In Review: Will Power, No. 12

Two-time NTT IndyCar Series champion Will Power endured an off year aboard the No. 12 Team Penske Chevrolet this season as he finished seventh in the standings.

Fresh off his second championship in 2022, Power went winless for the first time in his 16-year IndyCar career.

The 42-year-old Australian had a dismal Indianapolis 500 where he ran five laps off the pace in 23rd. Power’s teammate Josef Newgarden won the Greatest Spectacle in Racing.

Power, however, notched two consecutive poles at Iowa Speedway in July to extend his all-time record to 70. Six of the last seven races resulted in 10th-place or better for Power, including a runner-up finish in the second race at Iowa.

By season’s end, Power notched four podiums and 11 top-10 finishes during the 17-race season.

Next year will be Power’s 17th season in IndyCar.
