LEXINGTON, Ohio – Six-time Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio race winner and six-time NTT IndyCar Series champion Scott Dixon was the fastest driver in Saturday’s final practice session at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
Dixon’s fast time was 1:08.256 around the 13-turn, 2.258-mile road course in the No. 9 PNC Bank Honda. That equates to a speed of 118.973 mph.
Colton Herta was second in the No. 26 Gainbridge Honda for Andretti Autosport at 1:08.3280 (118.967 mph). Marcus Ericsson of Chip Ganassi Racing was third at 1:08.4314 (118.788 mph) in the No. 8 Huski Chocolate Honda at 1:08.4314 (118.788 mph).
Team Penske rookie Scott McLaughlin’s Chevrolet was fourth at 1:08.4431 (118.767 mph) with Ed Jones rounding out the top five at 1:08.5479 (118.586 mph) in the No. 18 Honda for Dale Coyne Racing with Vasser and Sullivan.
Pole winner Josef Newgarden was seventh at 1:08.3280 (118.967 mph) in the No. 2 XPEL Chevrolet.
Sunday’s race will be televised live beginning at Noon Eastern Time on NBC.
