IndyCar Starting Time Moved Up Due To Rain Threat

MADISON, Ill. — The starting time for Saturday’s Bommarito Automotive Group 500 at World Wide Technology Raceway has been moved up 30 minutes because of the threat of potential rain.

The race will now start just past 6:00 p.m. (ET) and will be televised on USA Network.

The original starting time was 6:30 p.m. (ET) with a 30-minute, pre-race show on USA, but the weather forecast has rain moving in around 7 p.m. (ET).

Team Penske’s Will Power starts on the pole after tying Mario Andretti’s record of 67 career poles during Friday’s qualifications. Power is in the No. 12 Verizon Chevrolet for Team Penske.

Marcus Ericsson, this year’s winner of the 106th Indianapolis 500, starts outside Row 1 in the No. 8 Huski Chocolate Honda for Chip Ganassi Racing.
