Red Line Extends Pact With Torrence Racing

LAS VEGAS – Three days after winning the Dodge NHRA Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, three-time and reigning NHRA Top Fuel champion Steve Torrence was back in town Wednesday to attend the SEMA Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center and announce an expansion and extension of his team’s partnership with Red Line Synthetic Oil.

Phillips 66’s performance oil brand will continue to provide the internal protection that has made the Capco Contractors dragsters the most dominant vehicles in drag racing’s premier category the last five seasons.  Red Line Oil Brand Director Mark Beatty confirmed a multi-year contract extension, starting in 2022.

“We have a long history with Red Line Oil,” Torrence said. “They’ve been here from the start and we’re excited about expanding our relationship moving forward.  One of the secrets to our success is that the motors the Capco Boys put together for these hot rods don’t fail and Red Line protection is one of the big reasons.”

Torrence, 38, is trying to become just the seventh driver in NHRA pro drag racing history to win as many as four consecutive series championships.  He leads by more than 100 points entering the Nov. 12-14 Auto Club Finals at Pomona, Calif.

With his dad, Billy Torrence, serving as his competitive wing man, the younger Torrence has won 42 races in the last five seasons, 34 more than anyone else in the category. Billy Torrence has added eight more victories. That’s 50 wins for Team Torrence and Red Line Oil in the last 102 NHRA national events.

“We are excited about exploring new opportunities with Steve, Billy and the Capco team,” Beatty said.  “They genuinely appreciate our product and we welcome the opportunity to continue to validate Red Line Oil in the toughest possible mechanical environment in the most powerful vehicles in motor racing.”
