Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage Joins TSR Nitro

BROWNSBURG, Ind. — Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage has partnered with Tony Stewart Racing in the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, with the Tennessee-based company highlighting its world-class car collection on the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Funny Car of three-time champion Matt Hagan.

JHG will serve as the co-primary sponsor of Hagan during the Circle K NHRA Four-Wide Nationals April 28-30 at zMAX Dragway. The red, white and blue car design will feature JHG on the hood of Hagan’s 11,000-horsepower machine. JHG will also be Hagan’s co-primary sponsor at the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals June 9-11 at Bristol (Tenn.) Dragway and primary sponsor at the Denso NHRA Sonoma Nationals July 28-30 at Sonoma (Calif.) Raceway.

For all other races, JHG will be featured in an associate partner position on each side of the rear wing.

“I’m happy to be a sponsor for three-time Funny Car Champion Matt Hagan,” said Jason Johnson, Owner and President, Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage. “The Tony Stewart Racing team has definitely produced a rise of interest and excitement to a sport we all love and I’m glad to make JHG a part of it. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone with Tony and Matt at the Four-Wide Nationals in North Carolina, Bristol’s Thunder Valley and Sonoma Raceway in 2023.”

Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage’s mission is to preserve and showcase the automotive industry. The vehicles are driven to and displayed at events by Johnson and his team with the goal of growing interest and keeping car culture thriving.

JHG also serves as a primary sponsor of Elite Motorsports in the NHRA Pro Stock series.

“We’re proud to have Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage join our race team. Their passion for the automotive industry fits perfectly within our organization,” said team owner Tony Stewart. “We’re looking forward to joining their mission of preserving and showcasing everything from vintage muscle cars to modern-day hot rods and supercars. We want to keep the car culture thriving for generations.”

Hagan, a winner of three Funny Car events so far this season, is looking forward to representing JHG.

“I have known Jason Johnson for a while now,” Hagan said. “I have represented JHG in the past at Don Schumacher Racing. They’re just a great group of people. His automotive collection is nothing short of amazing. To have them on the hood of our Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Funny car at Charlotte and Bristol is awesome. I’m also looking forward to running a full scheme at the Sonoma race. JHG is heavily involved on the Pro Stock side of things, but it’s really neat for them to want to be involved on the nitro side also.

“We’re excited to have them on-board and we’ll try hard to earn Jason a trophy. Bristol and Charlotte are two home tracks for me, so I’d really love to win at both of those.”
