USRA Stock Cars Added To Deer Creek Weekly Program

SPRING VALLEY, Minn. — One of the most popular divisions sanctioned by the USRA, the Medieval USRA Stock Cars enjoyed a surge in popularity in 2021 with several racetracks throughout the Great Plains adding the fierce full-fendered class to their weekly lineups.

Beginning in 2022, the USRA Stock Cars will become part of the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series program at another one of America’s premier dirt tracks—the Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn.

The high-banked three-eighths-mile clay oval located in the rolling hills of Southern Minnesota was a charter USRA Member Track when the United States Racing Association formed in 2002.

The USRA Stock Cars will join Deer Creek’s weekly racing card which features USRA Modifieds and USRA B-Mods as well as Wissota Midwest Mods and Wissota Street Stocks.

Medieval USRA Stock Cars have competed at select events throughout the track’s history, including the past three seasons as part of the USRA Stock Car Nationals which hosted more than 50 USRA Stock Cars competing for a $5,000 top prize.

With the continued growth of competitors in the division and a growing hunger among fans for elite Stock Car competition.

While they begrudgingly will be dropping the Wissota Super Stock division, officials from the Deer Creek Speedway say they are thrilled to add the USRA Stock Cars to the weekly lineup.

“Letting a class go is one of the toughest decisions that a racetrack will ever have to make,” said the track’s General Manager, Cole Queensland. “These drivers all become part of the racing family and that has been the case with the Wissota Super Stocks over the last 20 years. Unfortunately, sometimes a change is needed.

“We are excited to see what the future holds for the USRA Stock Cars at Deer Creek Speedway. We have listened to the fans and drivers over the last few years and feel that the Stock Cars will be a great addition to the weekly program at Deer Creek Speedway.”
