UNION, Ky. — Ricky Thornton Jr. was the big winner in the 45th annual Spring 50 dirt late model race at Florence Speedway Saturday night.
Thornton grabbed the lead from Jimmy Owens with seven laps remaining and led the remainder of the distance en route to a $10,000 payday.
Bobby Pierce came on strong at the end to finish second, with Owens, Darrell Lanigan and Tyler Erb rounding out the top five.
