Shaw Trucking Back As Wild West Finale Sponsor

VADO, N.M. – Shaw Trucking has been a longtime supporter of the Wild West Shootout, and that support will continue into the Jan. 16 edition of the event.

The Minnesota-based company will be the presenting sponsor of the $25,000-to-win super late model finale, now titled the Rio Grande Waste Services 50 presented by Shaw Trucking.

The 50-lap event, which wraps up six races in nine days for the Dirt Track Bank Super Late Models presented by Black Diamond Race Cars, pays $1,000 to start with a total purse of more than $65,000.

“Over the past several years, Don Shaw and Shaw Trucking have been great supporters of the Wild West Shootout,” event promoter Chris Kearns said. “All that you need to know about Don’s love for the sport is that when Rio Grande Waste Services gave the finale a giant purse increase, Don was fully supportive of moving from title sponsor to presenting sponsor of the finale.

The total payout for the Rio Grande Waste Services 50 is as follows: 1)$25,000, 2)$10,000, 3)$5,000, 4)$3,000, 5)$2,000 6)$1,500, 7)$1,250, 8)$1,200, 9)$1,100, 10-24)$1,000

With the Wild West Shootout offering five features paying $5,000 to win and a $25,000-to-win finale, a driver able sweeep the miniseries would depart New Mexico with over $353,000 in earnings, including the Penske Racing Shocks $300,000 Paydirt Jackpot bonus as well the $3,000 champion’s check.

The dates of the event are scheduled for Jan. 8-9, 12 and 14-16 at the three-eights-mile clay oval.

Open practice sessions are slated for both Jan. 7 and Jan. 11.

A six-day general admission combo ticket is available for $150 and includes a pit pass upgrade for one night as chosen by the purchaser, as well as a free Wild West Shootout seat cushion.

Additionally, reserved seating is now available for six-day packages at $150, plus a $12 processing fee per package from the ticket vendor.

Reserved six-day packages also include a one-night pit pass upgrade as well as an event-branded seat cushion. 

Individual day general admission tickets are priced at $25 per night for adults and $10 for ages 6-12, with children 5-and-under free of charge.
