Owens Earns $15,000 Crate Late Model Payday

BULLS GAP, Tenn. – Jimmy Owens earned a $15,000 payday for his victory in Saturday’s Crate Late Model National Championship event at Volunteer Speedway.

Owens, driving a car owned by Michael Lloyd, took the lead on lap 30 from Ricky Weiss and proceeded to lead the remainder of the 100-lap event without being seriously challenged.

Jason Welshan finished second, followed by Logan Roberson, Zach Sise and Jensen Ford.

Eleven of the 24 starters completed all 100 laps.

The event was sanctioned by the American Crate Late Model Series.
