Moyer Doubles Down In Arizona

CASE GRANDE, Ariz. — Night two of the six-race Ernie Mincy Early Thaw series at Central Arizona Raceway drew 128 cars, including 37 late models.

Dustin Bluhm led at the start of the late model main with yellows slowing the pace.  Excellent racing for the lead was hampered by a series of yellows.

An opportunity to score four laps before the next yellow saw Rob Mayea use the top of turn four to get the lead despite contact with Bluhm along the frontstretch.

Billy Moyer Sr. was third for the next restart and moved to second before the next yellow. Mayea was committed to the top and it caught up to him when he slid off turn two, moving Moyer to the lead.

Once in front, Moyer dominated the last 21 laps to win with Ricky Weiss and Austin Kuehl next across the line.

IMCA modifieds saw Ricky Alvarado led 13 laps until Tom Berry Jr. caught him and used the top of turn four to take the lead.

Once ahead, Berry drew away for the win over Chaz Baca Jr. and Alvarado.

Lucas Rodin made it two in a row in limited modifieds and Cam Reimers matched him with a second win in Northern sport mods.

Bo Partain led the stock car main at the start with Aaron Olson and Jason Rogers in pursuit. Partain established a big lead but a yellow with six laps remaining renewed hope for the pursuing pair.

Rogers was involved in a tangle shortlyy after the restart and Steve Sluka took his place. Partain held onto his lead for a flag-to-flag win. Sluka used the outside line to take second ahead of Olson.
