Lots Of Cash Available During IMCA Hot Summer Nights

SPENCER, Iowa – Plenty of cold, hard cash will be paid out during the Aug. 2-7 IMCA Hot Summer Nights Series.

Many of the best IMCA drivers from across the Midwest and the nation will follow IMCA Speedweek, traveling to five different tracks in Iowa and Minnesota.

“There’s been a lot of interest from track officials and drivers in a tour-type Speedweek and the Hot Summer Nights theme seemed particularly appropriate this year,” noted IMCA President Brett Root. “Speedweek will give a lot of drivers the opportunity to race for more money at both established IMCA tracks and specials.”

A $5,000 main event for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars headlines the Monday night opener at Clay County Fair Speedway. IMCA Modifieds, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks all race for $1,000 to win Aug. 2 at Spencer.

IMCA Modifieds take their turn running for a $5,000 top prize on Aug. 3 at the Harris Clash. Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn., hosts the 30th annual Clash, IMCA’s longest continuously running one-day special.

Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods run for $1,500 that evening. The Wehrs Machine & Racing Products Modified Race of Champions pays $1,000 to win.

Modifieds, Stock Cars, Northern SportMods and Hobby Stocks all run for $1,000 to win Wednesday, Aug. 4 at Buena Vista Raceway in Alta and Thursday, Aug. 5 at Kossuth County Speedway in Algona.

Speedweek sees its final checkers at two traditional IMCA events, the Aug. 6 Night of 1,000 Stars and Aug. 7 Night of 10,000 Stars at Hancock County Speedway in Britt.

Modifieds race for $3,000 to win on Friday and for $4,000 to win on Saturday. Stock Car and Northern SportMod features both nights pay $1,000 to the winners.

All Speedweek Modified winners become eligible to qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. The Stock Car winner at Clay County is guaranteed a starting spot, while all other Speedweek winners in The Class Too Tough to Tame become eligible to qualify for the B & B Chassis All-Star Invitational.

The Harris Clash is broadcast by IMCA.TV. Both Clay County and Buena Vista race programs will be broadcast by Advantage.TV, also a SPEED SPORT TV affiliate.
