Hughes Is First-Time Eldora Winner

ROSSBURG, Ohio — Spencer Hughes picked up his first Eldora Speedway victory in Sunday night’s Baltes Classic.

With 33 dirt late models on hand for the final tune-up prior to twin World 100s this week, Hughes started fifth in the 30-lap event and methodically worked his way forward.

He held off Hudson O’Neal, who started ninth, for the victory.

Jonathan Henry, Clint Keenan and Nathon Loney rounded out the top five.

In modified action, Brian Ruhlman put an exclamation mark on his season by winning the race and the Eldora Modified Championship.

Terry Rushlow picked up his Eldora win in the Super Stocks division, and by virtue of his runner-up spot, Jordan Conover locked up the Eldora Super Stocks Championship.
