Gateway Upset For Myles Moos

ST. LOUIS – Myles Moos scored an upset victory during the super late model portion of night two of the Gateway Dirt Nationals inside The Dome at America’s Center Friday evening.

Starting from the outside of the front row alongside polesitter Austin Simpson, it was Moos who took the lead in the opening corners of the 25-lap main event. Moos maintained his lead at the front of the field until a multi-car pileup with 18 laps left brought out the caution flag.

Moos held the lead on the restart while behind him Simpson battled Nick Hoffman for the runner-up position. Moos would lead the entire distance, fending off Hoffman by a few car lengths to pocket the $5,000 top prize.

Simpson came home in third, with Jody Knowles grabbing fourth to earn the final guaranteed transfer spot into Saturday’s $30,000-to-win finale.

Gordy Gundaker completed the top-five.
